Unfortunately, the library tour planned for today has been canceled. I will reinstate it later in the semester.
Please make sure that if you don't have a library card, that you get one. Go to NYPL.ORG for more information. Here is a link to the NYPL Help page. This should help you to become acquainted with what the Library has to offer. And it's all FREE!
3. TALK with your study partner. Choose any topic. Here are a few suggestions:
Weather in New York
What I like to do on a rainy day
The foods, drinks, and pastimes that you miss from your country
Talk about a member of your family
4. GRAMMAR. This weeks grammar exercise is on using would and could. Please study the attached Grammar Unit and complete the exercises. Compose five sentences using would or could. Practice asking questions with your study partner using would and could. When would you use will instead of would and can instead of could?
5. WHY THE LIBRARY IS IMPORTANT TO ME. Put your ideas together as to why New York Public Library is so important to you. Prepare a short (less than 5 minute) presentation to be given to your classmates when we next meet. NOTE that we will have time for about 6 presentations of 5 minutes each.

2. Grammar: "Used to" and "Use to"
I used to be a waiter in a restaurant, but now I work in the Library as an English teacher.
I did not use to drive, but when I moved to Texas I realized that a car was essential, so I had to learn.
(Some people say: "I never used to drive.", and still others say "I used not to drive" (usually British English).
When asking a question: Did you use to eat meat, or have you always been vegetarian?
